On March 22, 2024 at 10:00 am, Christoph Ley and Redouan Akdouren from pep-training invited for an online information session on Usability Mapping.
Invited were actors from the healthcare sector and occupational safety.
Dr. Verena Seibert-Giller explained the terms usability, user experience (UX), and usability engineering and their significance in everyday professional life.
She described the historical development and current applications that she has been actively involved in shaping for over 30 years.
Dr Klaus Hofer reported on a critical experience he had as a young nurse, which then prompted him to delve into measures for error prevention as a psychologist.
He focused particularly on concepts that can minimize perceptual and behavioral errors.
This expertise was then utilized for many years in industry as well as academic education.
Christa Spengler-Rast particularly highlighted the economic benefits of usability engineering for businesses and other users.
She reported on the development of an intranet-based training program for a professional fire department, as well as other applications in education, training, and further development.
Christoph Ley pointed out the possibilities of using Usability Engineering in occupational safety, as well as quality and risk management. In particular, he focused on the minimization of stress-related hazards.
As some invited participants were unable to attend the information event due to work commitments, we decided to repeat the event at a later date. Interested parties are welcome to contact us here to receive another invitation.
